The Cafeteria Table Theory

|
Of cliques and cafeteria tables.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that most of my readers are still in their school years (I'd explain how I came to conclude that, but that wouldn't be very relevant), and I'm sure that none of you are strangers to cliques.

In today's relatively short article, I will be discussing cliques, how it affects the student body, and how the simple cafeteria table can change everything.

Soybeans!

|
Soy joy!

Ah, soy. A widely used crop that's been around the western world for about 300 years, and for thousands of years in Asia. In today's article, I'll be shedding some light on this wonder-crop; how much we rely on it, its many uses, as well as the impact it has on the world today.

The Five Second Rule: Fact or Fiction?

|
Are you going to eat that?

A note from Jill: Before anything else, I'd like to apologize for the late update! I know you've all been waiting for Saturday's post, so here it is!

According to urban legend, the Five-Second Rule is a well-known unwritten rule whereby food dropped on the floor for 5 seconds or less is still safe for consumption. Though widely believed in, many people follow this rule blindly, and the topic has not been well documented. In today's post, I will be discussing this famous myth, and reveal the truth behind what you think you know about it.

Live Better #2 : The Little Things

|
Bite-sized happiness

In this current world of idiosyncrasies and over-emphasized trivial issues, society has been shaped in such a way that we have been made to prioritize the more publicly obvious, the 'bigger' things in life. We've long since believed that only through being successful in achieving these bigger things, we will find happiness. With that, we spend the rest of our time complaining, if not rampaging, about the things we failed to do. With this mindset, happiness has become something difficult to sought after.

Fellow readers, today I will be talking about how we can overcome this common humanly tendency and bring in more joy into our lives, not through more convoluted methods that would further confuse you, but through the things you may not have even bothered to stop and appreciate.

Update

|
Hey guys!

I'm sorry to say that Procrastination Right Now will be taking a break for the week, but don't worry, we'll be back next week with brand new articles!

Feed Your Brain The Right Way

|

Now, who doesn't love a good meal or a scrumptious snack? Being an undetachable part of our lives, food is also a great source of nutrients and a sweet or savoury sort of joy (not a bad package, no?). But like any other one of life's delights, there is also the negative aspect of food. In this post, I'm not talking about the fat-laden sort or the cholesterol infested sort, but the kind that can damage your brain if you don't eat the right way. In today's article, let me take you into the world of brain food and the wonders it can do to your brain.

Dreams And How To Remember Them

|

Dreams, the voice of our subconscious and the parts of the mind that we try to shut away. They are the imaginative thoughts and sensations we go through when we sleep, and as I'd like to call them, they are the fun little movies you watch in your head before you wake up. In today's post, I will be discussing dreams and how one can remember them.

|
Half full? Or half empty?

Live Better is, as its name suggests, a series of articles (lifehacks, more like) on how you can improve the way you live, and make life a happier experience. Today's article will be about how positivity affects ourselves, and even the people around us, as well as how you can cultivate the right form of this attitude.

How To Get Over Crushes

|
 It hurts, doesn't it?

As wonderful love can feel, it can turn out to be an unwanted feeling for some people. Love can be a difficult (and distracting) obstacle, getting in the way of a person’s priorities, family, and even friendship. In today’s post, I will be sharing different methods on how one can get over their crushes.

The title is self-explanatory. In today's article, I will be listing several pictures of people wearing the strangest, most ironic shirts you could possibly wear in a mugshot.

In what may seem like a desperate marketing scheme gone horribly wrong, Procrastination Right Now will today attempt to explain to you why procrastinating is scientifically (and sometimes pseudoscientifically) good for you.

I'd Live There!

|

I've always liked modern house designs. Then again, I've always liked a lot of things. A couple of things I adore are the practicality of the designs and how gorgeous these buildings turn out. Another reason for my affinity towards designer homes would most probably be because of the boring houses around me, sporting the same motifs. Sure, there might be one or two interesting ones lying around, but how often do you see that?

Geeks Are Cool

|

What's the first thing that comes to mind when I say 'Geek Toys'? Light Sabers? Rubik Cubes? Remote Controlled anything? In this post, I'm going to attempt to change the way you think about Geeks and gadgets, or at least just make you go 'Oh hey, that's cool!'.

11 Toons I Want Back On TV

|
 Just because it's in 3D, doesn't mean it's good!

I don't know about you, but in general, I'm no fan of today's cartoons. Long gone are the days of great toons with depth or at least a decent storyline. Today, our cartoon stations are being plagued by the likes of teen pop stars, unoriginal ideas, and boring characters. I mean, what in the world is a "Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go"? (Yes, I googled it)

A Funkier Way To Eat Your Food

|

Nitro soup? Frozen pancakes? Smoking chocolate cake in a pipe? Edible printed food? As outlandish as it sounds, all these things do exist! Welcome to the world of molecular gastronomy, where what you see is not necessarily what you eat.

10 Great Websites You Must Visit

|

So you're bored, and you're playing around online, maybe checking your Facebook notifications or messing around with the ton of applications there. But seriously speaking, how is a high score on Mafia Wars going to help you in any way? Well sure it makes you feel good somewhat, but it won't make you any smarter.

Here is a list of 10 of my favorite websites I visit when I'm procrastinating. What's great about them is that they're not only interesting, but they're also good sources of knowledge.
